Our organization, BGYUVA FOUNDATION, started working in the year 2020.
Before the start of our journey, we saw one small family whose son was incapable of seeing properly. He had been suffering from a cataract issue since childhood. Although his father was a doctor, he had the mindset that his son was blind from childhood, so he never sought proper treatment for him. When we came to know about his issue, we strongly decided to take a risk and send him to the hospital for a routine check-up and to get the doctor’s suggestion. After the routine checkup, we were surprised when the doctor said he would be completely okay after cataract surgery on his eyes.
After the discussion, we requested his father for his treatment. His father was also surprised when he came to know about his son’s condition. He agreed and arranged funds for the surgery of his son’s left eye. The surgery was successful, and his son started seeing from his eye at the age of 22 years. He was so happy and continuously said, “Brother, I can see all the things in HD quality.” We couldn’t express our emotions and happiness upon seeing this.
After some time, the Ayushman Bharat scheme was launched. We helped him get his right eye cataract surgery done under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, totally free of cost.
After this incident, we were motivated to help poor and needy people who are suffering from cataracts. We have seen and met many people who are suffering from cataracts and have lost all hope of seeing again. We are helping them get treated free of cost through the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, and for those who don’t have the necessary documents, we are arranging treatment through NGOs.
BGYUVA FOUNDATION is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the transformative power of selfless action. We opened our first office in Adityapur Ser-e-Punjab, Jamshedpur, in the Saraikela-Kharwawan District of Jharkhand on 15th January 2020.
Over the last three years, we have organized numerous Free Eye Check-up camps on a daily basis. More than 20,000 people have been treated free of cost in our Free Eye Check-up camps. Over 4,500 people have undergone cataract surgery and are very happy to see again in their later years. Almost 8,000 people have benefited from low-cost spectacles with correct accuracy.
We believe that monetary help will never give them the happiness that comes from healthier lives in rural areas. BGYUVA FOUNDATION’s efforts will bear fruit when people start living healthier lives in rural and urban areas.
From last year, we started Organic Farming for the Villagers, providing them with training programs and support in the field of Organic Farming for their better lives.
